Drip Edge
A non-corrosive metal flashing installed at roof eaves and rakes to direct water away from fascia and into the gutter.
IRC R905.2.8.5 requires drip edge at all eaves and rakes for asphalt shingle installations. It is one of the most commonly omitted line items on carrier estimates — typically billed as both 'D-style' (eaves) and 'L-style' (rakes) plus labor.
